Meet Anita
Leadership for the Lakeshore
West Michigan’s Lakeshore has been my home with my husband of 37 years, Michael J. Brown. Throughout these years, we’ve expanded our roots in this community to include our 5 children and 17 grandchildren.
As a total outdoorsy-lady, one of my favorite activities is running. So, when other’s encouraged me to run for 89th District Representative, I knew I was up for the challenge.

I’ve spent my life living, loving, learning, and serving in the community. Dedicated to lifelong learning, I’ve graduated with multiple degrees and am working toward a new certification. My lifetime has been spent serving our area as a Foster Care worker, Counselor, Therapist, Relief Youth Specialist, and In-School Suspension Supervisor, to name a few.
My elder grandchildren are always trying to convince me that the internet is the “key to the world.” And, while I acknowledge its importance, I value the authenticity of time spent in-person. I love being directly involved in my grandchildren’s lives and due to COVID and everyone’s crazy schedules, I am embracing tech as a way to keep in touch via FaceTime.
While my qualifications and experiences vary greatly, the unifying value has been my desire to promote and nurture the emotional and social development of all families and children.
And, I promise you, if I am elected, I will continue my stellar record of service to this community.
